National Scholarships

National scholarships carry bigger award amounts, but are very competitive! The following scholarships are available to students nationwide:

College Board Opportunity Scholarships

Award Amount: $500-$40,000

​

Complete 6 college planning steps for 6 separate chances at $500. When you finish all 6, you’ll be entered into a drawing for a $40,000 scholarship, but you can still earn money even if you don’t complete them all.

This program is open to students regardless of their family income. At least half of all scholarships (over $2 million) will be designated for students whose families earn less than $60,000 a year. Whenever students who meet these requirements complete a step, they'll earn an extra entry in monthly drawings for scholarships.

SkillPointe Foundation Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000

The SkillPointe Foundation is awarding multiple $1,000 scholarships every quarter for individuals pursuing technical/vocational training in construction, healthcare, energy, manufacturing, transportation, and other fields.

The SkillPointe Foundation’s mission is to ensure everyone has access to training to become a skills-based professional.

The Williamson Family Foundation Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000

The Williamson Family Foundation Scholarship was created by Colonel Charles Williamson and his wife, Helen Williamson, and is dedicated to making the dreams of a college education a reality for children of active duty Marines. Our goal is to help deserving individuals meet their academic goals with the added benefit of bettering the community and our world. Applications will be judged based partially on financial need but with a greater emphasis on prior academic, social or personal achievements and future goals. Each year at least one applicant must be chosen who will be pursuing a degree in the field of Nursing. The remaining scholarships may be awarded to applicants pursuing any field of study. Applications are reviewed by a board for selection. Scholarships range from $1000 - $15,000 annually with no fewer than three recipients.

Questbridge National College Match

Award Amount: Meets full need

Are you a low-income high school senior who has excelled academically, but feels that the nation’s best colleges are financially out of reach? The QuestBridge National College Match can be your pathway to a top college. Through this college and scholarship application process, you can apply for free to the nation’s best colleges and be considered for early admission and a full four-year scholarship.

Coca-Cola Scholars Program

Award Amount: $20,000

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to students in their final year of high school. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.

Hagan Scholarship Foundation

Award Amount: Meets full need

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, designed to provide recipients with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free. Applicants must attend a traditional public high school governed by a school district. Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum. Recipients graduating college while in the Hagan Scholarship Program can apply for a Hagan Graduate Scholarship good for up to four additional consecutive semesters to attend graduate school.

Coalition for College Exploration Scholarships

Award Amount: $500

9th & 10th graders: use MyCoalition tools for a chance to win a $500 scholarship toward the cost of your college exploration and preparation activities – from campus visits, to summer programs, to tutoring.

VFW Voice of Democracy Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000-$35,000

Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s) premier scholarship program. Each year, nearly 27,000 high school students compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year’s theme is, “Is America Today Our Forefathers’ Vision?”
