State Aid Programs
The following grants are available from the state government to aid students who demonstrate financial need. The general eligibility* is as follows:

Be a resident of PA

Be a graduate of an approved high school

Attend an eligible post-secondary school

Not be in default on a federal student loan

File a FAFSA and apply for PA State Grant

Meet minimum enrollment required of your school

Maintain satisfactory academic progress in program of study

Here are some of Pennsylvania's programs:

Pennsylvania State Grant: $500-$5,260 aid awards for students demonstrating need within Pennsylvania. Award amount varies based on need and where students intend to enroll in college.

Partnerships for Access to Higher Education: Matches up to $2500 worth of money provided by a "PATH" organization. In order to be eligible, you must apply to and receive money from a PATH organization. Click here to learn more about the PATH program!

Postsecondary Educational Gratuity Program (PEGP): Provides enough money to cover remaining costs of tuition, room and board, and fees not covered by other grants. This is available to students who had a parent (adoptive or birth) working as a Police Officer, Firefighter, Rescue/ Ambulance Squad member, Correctional employee, or National Guard member, die in the line of duty.

Pennsylvania National Guard Education Assistance Program (EAP): Full tuition scholarships available for students in the PA National Guard.​​​

Pennsylvania Ready to Succeed Scholarship (RTSS): The PA Ready to Succeed Scholarship (RTSS) Program is administered by PHEAA in close cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The program, which is funded by the Pennsylvania General Assembly, provides awards to high-achieving students whose annual family income does not exceed $175,000.
